COURSE OVERVIEW

This ‘Cementing Technologies’ course covers the importance being placed on the cement sheath integrity during the life of the well, requiring additional mechanical properties of the set cement are obtained other than the compressive strength. Special purpose cements are discussed in a way so that it will be apparent when they should and when they should not be used as well as how they can be used to solve challenges encountered in complex and extreme
well environments. This course will highlight:
o Proper procedures for design and execute cement job o How to ensure the cement integrity during well life o Proper selection for the equipment to overcome the cement problems o How to control gas migration after successful cement job o How to deal with several problems of cement.
